How it works
1 · Enter what you already know (about 10 minutes)
Your starting balance, then your regular lines: client invoices, payroll, rent, loan payments, supplies. Weekly, every 2 weeks, monthly, or one-time — each with the date it actually lands. A complete sample cleaning business is preloaded so you can see a finished forecast before touching your own numbers.
2 · Read the dashboard
Four numbers: your cash low point (the worst week-end balance, and which week), your danger week (the first week the balance goes below zero — or a clear "stays positive"), the ending balance, and total in vs. total out. A chart shows the whole quarter at a glance.
3 · Stress-test it
Three one-click scenarios: a big customer pays 30 days late · you lose a client · an unexpected bill (tax, repair) lands. They change the forecast, never your base figures — switch them off and your original plan is untouched.
4 · Keep it current
Your figures save in the file, in your browser. Export a JSON backup any time, print a clean one-page projection for your accountant or bank. Update a number when reality changes; the forecast recalculates as you type.
Why a file, not another subscription?
| This forecaster | Float (the category standard) | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $49 once | Subscription, plus a QuickBooks plan — around $105/month combined |
| Bank connection | None — you type your figures | Requires QuickBooks and a live bank feed |
| Your financial data | Stays in a file on your computer | Lives on the vendor's servers |
| Works if the seller disappears | Yes — it's a file | No |
Float is genuinely good software. If your books live in QuickBooks and you want the forecast to update itself from your bank feed, it's the right tool and this one isn't (see "Who should not buy" below). If you'd rather type a dozen lines once and own the result outright, that's this.
What you get
- The Forecaster (one HTML file) — opens in any modern browser, works offline, no install, no account.
- 13 weekly columns generated from your start date, with per-line recurrences: weekly, every 2 weeks, monthly (same day each month), and one-time, each with an optional end date.
- The dashboard: cash low point with its week, danger week or "stays positive," ending balance, totals — plus a balance chart.
- Three scenario switches that never touch your base data.
- A sample service business preloaded, so the first open makes sense.
- Print-friendly projection table, local save, JSON export/import.
- Plain-English getting-started guide included.
- 90 days of email support at contact@elitebusinesstools.com.
Who should not buy this
- You need live bank feeds or QuickBooks sync. This tool never touches your bank. If automatic sync is the point, buy Float instead — honestly.
- You need bookkeeping or accounting. This plans cash. It doesn't categorise transactions, reconcile accounts, or file anything.
- Your cash flow is one salary in, the same bills out, every month. You already know your low point; a spreadsheet row would tell you.
- You want it to predict your sales. Every figure is your own estimate. It does the arithmetic and the what-ifs; the judgement is yours.
Honest limits — read before you buy
- Manual entry is the trade. No bank connection means you type the lines and update them when things change. For most owner-operators that's ten minutes to set up and a minute a week — but it is manual.
- A payment pushed past week 13 disappears from the forecast. That's deliberate: money arriving after the quarter isn't in this quarter. The low point still shows the hole it leaves.
- No tax rates or rules are baked in, because they vary by place and go stale. Enter tax payments as ordinary lines, or test them with the surprise-bill scenario.
- Saving is per-browser. Your figures save in the browser you used. The JSON backup is how you move computers — the guide walks through it.
Questions
I'm not technical. Can I use this?
If you can use a spreadsheet, yes. It opens like a web page, the sample shows you a finished example, and the guide takes about ten minutes.
What if it doesn't work for me?
30-day money-back guarantee — email us and we'll refund you. No forms, no exit interview.
Does it work on a phone or tablet?
Yes, in any modern browser, though entering a full forecast is more comfortable on a bigger screen. The chart and dashboard read fine on a phone.
Can I use it for more than one business?
One purchase covers forecasts for your own business or businesses. Open a separate copy of the file per business and keep a backup for each.
